CORAL REEFS: CITIES UNDER THE SEA SNORKEL

When exploring a coral reef have you ever wondered, “What is going on? There are so many different creatures and they all seem so busy! It looks like chaos!” The truth is that there is a lot going on – but it is far from chaos! Every creature has a role to play on a coral reef, just like people have various jobs in a city: farmers, doctors, advertisers, waste engineers – all of this and more can be found on a coral reef! We will discover how interconnected the reefs are: one reef to another, the reef inhabitants to each other, and reefs to us humans! We can take some lessons from nature by witnessing up-close their amazing ability to capture solar energy, to recycle all of their waste, and to house a diverse array of species that all work together to form a sustainable community.
